MOBILE ECG STUDY ENROLLS 1,000 PARTICIPANTS ACROSS 4 CLINICAL SITES WITHIN 9 MONTHS

GAINESVILLE, FL., JULY 28TH, 2021 — Equal Access Research announces the enrollment of their 1,000th patient into the Mobile ECG Study since beginning operations at our first site in late October 2020.

The Mobile ECG Program is building a robust set of evidence to support the routine clinical implementation of 30-second single rhythm or 6L mobile ECGs as a ‘sixth vital’ sign for patients at high risk for cardiovascular disease and arrhythmia. After starting patient recruitment at the University of Florida Health Nephrology Clinic, the study has quickly expanded into the Sleep Clinic in March 2021 as well as the Ophthalmology and Urology Clinics in June 2021. The study is approved to expand into Neurology & the Pre-Surgical Center to further advance this initiative with other site expansion efforts in the works.

“Our research program’s ability to enroll over 1,000 patients and grow our team as well as clinical partners during a historic pandemic highlights Equal Access Research’s unprecedented ability to operate digital health focused clinical research trials at a scale few research groups around the world can parallel.” Ajay Mittal, Director of Equal Access Research.

The data collected from the ECG strips in addition to the study surveys and medical record access every participant consents to opens up a number of opportunities to explore clinical relationships between atrial fibrillation in high risk patient populations through the utilization of big data and artificial intelligence. Furthermore, our study seeks to assess the longitudinal impact of digital health screening technologies and patient outcomes to factor in the carried on cost of care for patients who screened positive for previously undetected atrial fibrillation.
