EQUAL ACCESS RESEARCH INTRODUCES NEW ARTS IN MEDICINE COMMUNITY INITIATIVE, CRAFTING CARE

GAINESVILLE, FL., JANUARY 17TH, 2022 - Equal Access Research launches its latest community initiative – Crafting Care, an organization dedicated to supporting the underserved by creating handmade goods. The program plans to launch a series of workshops teaching members how to make a variety of crafts. Ultimately the goods will be collected and donated to several nonprofits across Gainesville, including Blossoming Butterfly – a charity committed to helping those with unexpected cancer diagnoses.

Led by Mariam Cruz, she hopes the program not only aids the community but also provides members with a space that offers them the opportunity to relax and unwind. “Crafting Care centers around creating handmade goods, including crocheted items such as winter headbands and blankets, to help those in the community that are often neglected in the cold season.”

Mariam looks forward to the initiation and would like to especially thank Ajay Mittal, Director of Equal Access Research, for all of his support throughout the process. “Our program is looking for members passionate about crafts while serving the community, and no previous knowledge about crocheting or crafting is required!”

Crafting Care plans to launch in early February of this year and membership is open to all residents in the Gainesville area.
